Looking Back: Cabbage Key

A few years ago, Jenn and I decided to get away for a long weekend on Captiva Island on the Gulf Coast of Florida. While we were there, we took a short cruise ride over to Cabbage Key, the place that inspired Jimmy Buffet’s song, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”. While waiting for the boat to take us back to Captiva, Jenn found the above sign quite humorous (or was that me).

Did you see the dump site behind the watertower? DEP should be called. We spent the night there in Jan and the owner, Robert Alton Wells, or RAW, is a drunken asshole. He was mean to his own bartender and he talks like a sailor. I served in the Navy an approached him. He never served a day but he is a Rear Admiral Jackass! The cheeseburgers are poor and the host is a jerk!!!!!!!
